Unkown Seed Parent Pod #1

Although I do not know the seed parent, I do know that all of these seedlings came out of the same seed pod.  It is interesting to see the diversity out of a single pod.

Seedlings planted in 2021: 9

I wish I did know the seed parent as several offspring did have desirable qualities.

FD55-2
FD55-2

This seedling has wondeful colour and decent form. Certainly will consider growing it again in 2022.

FD55-3
FD55-3

A reasonable bloom but I am in not in love with the patchy colour.

FD55-5
FD55-5

A lot of desirable qualities. I have some concern that the center may be to loose, but will continue to monitor.

FD55-6
FD55-6

The open center on this one rules it a non-starter for me. It will be discarded.

FD55-7
FD55-7

This is about as bad as a seedling can get. It has been removed from the garden to prevent it from spreading it's pollen to future generations.

FD55-9
FD55-9

This is the type of bloom where non-dahlia people come in to the garden and fall in love with it. This dahlia will be removed to prevent spreading pollen.
